Trip Report: Hoop-Dee-Doo is Life (December 2018)

If you missed the last update you can check it out here.

Before I knew it, we were let into Pioneer Hall. We were seated in the first row all the way on the left (if you're facing the stage). I've sat in the front before and it's so nice to be so close. I think we had had this waiter before, too.

Speaking of someone we've seen before: We had the same Dolly as our last trip. She had flirted with my dad and took a picture with him. She's in the intro for my Disney vlogs so I've seen her a lot.

I set my camera up on it's tripod facing the stage. Sometimes my footage would go out of focus, but it was worth it to be able to record while enjoying the show.

Of course the cornbread and honey butter was delicious like normal. I asked for mac and cheese again. I don't like ribs or fried chicken, so I like that I can get something else. I did eat some chicken breast after taking off the skin this time-trying to get that protein.

The show was great just like it usually is. They did add some Christmas songs which was a nice treat. And you can bet I said it was my birthday when they asked.

I made a shirt that said, "All I want for Christmas is to be the Can-Can dancer." Alas my dream did not come true. The cast did acknowledge it. My dad said he saw them checking me out-probably sizing me up. That's ok, I'm really top-heavy. Hopefully, that will change as I lose weight. Someday I'll fit in that costume and be picked. The next day I learned that was Six-Bits first show. I had posted some pictures on Instagram and he liked them. Naturally, I creeped on his profile and now I follow him.

I'm obsessed with Hoop-Dee-Doo and this was the perfect way to spend my 30th birthday.

Trip Report: Tri-Circle D Ranch (December 2018)

If you missed the last post, you can check out here.

We had some time to kill before dinner so we headed over to the Tri-Circle D Ranch. It's just a hop skip and a jump away from Pioneer Hall.

There's a little room in the stable that has a recording that tells you a brief history of Walt and horses. It also has a bunch of pictures and some displays.

One of the big horses (I think a Percheron) was getting a bath. My parents stopped and talked to the CM doing the washing for a little bit while I looked around.

You can see some of the horses, but a lot of them are away from the public. I'm sure that's for their safety. You also can't touch them. They each have their own Disney name tags outside their stalls. And there are instructions for their individual diets. these horses live a pretty charmed life.

Outside is where Cinderella's ponies are kept. They are kept in a few different pens. We were trying to figure out how they are divided-size, personality, etc. And they had a cool little device to push down on and get fresh water. I know some horses who would think that was a toy.

We also checked out the little gift shop. There are tons of cool signs and details in and outside the shop. The only thing I really wanted from the store was the resort-specific Christmas pin. I really wish I bought it, but reasonable me decided not to because it was pricey and  I already bought some from other resorts.

Then, we headed back to Pioneer Hall and waited for them to open the doors.

Trip Report: It's My Birthday (December 2018)

If you missed the last update, you can read it here.

This morning I didn't just wake up in Disney World, I woke up in Disney World on my 30th Birthday!

I spent some time on our little patio thing taking in the sounds of the Poly. We were really close to the TTC so I was able to watch and listen to the ferry boats. I really like listening to the ferry boats-its very relaxing.

Eventually, I got around and ready for the day. This included doing my make-up and curling my hair. I almost never do that on vacation, but it was my birthday and we were going to Hoop-Dee-Doo tonight. For some reason, I really like doing it up for Hoop-Dee-Doo.

Once everyone was around, we took a Minnie Van to Fort Wilderness. We got there around noon and had about an hour to kill before we could get our golf cart.

So, we hung out around the stables where the horseback riding horses are. They were getting a gang together to go out. My dad really wants to ride (he rids at home). I told him if he gets below the weight limit, I would do it with him the next time we came down.

Eventually, we picked up our golf cart. My parents made me drive it to Pioneer Hall. It was not happy about it, because I'm a really anxious driver in my own car. My dad was nice enough to park it for me though.

Trip Report: Night at Disney Springs (December 2018)

If you missed the last post, you can read it here.

After our journey through the Christmas Tree Trail we spent more time at Disney Springs.

We did some shopping including the recently refurbished World of Disney. The store is still a madhouse, but it is harder to get lost in which is nice. I picked up a few things. I did a trip haul on my YouTube channel.

Then, it was time to try the Void. I wanted to do the Ralph Breaks the Internet one, but my parents wanted Star Wars. I do really like Star Wars, but feel like the Ralph one will go away first.

Even with the reservation we had to wait for a long time. First, we waited in line, then we waited inside after signing our waivers, then we waited in a room, then we waited in another room. It was a little frustrating. I know only like 4 people can go at a time, but they need to do something about the boring wait time.

The Void was a really fun experience. I've never done a VR thing so my bar may be low, but I think others have also praised it. The video was crisp and realistic unless I was looking at my parents. My dad actually had a disembodied arm for a few times. And my stepmom got scared a few times. I don't want to go into too much detail, but there was some height stuff and I basically had to push her. In a loving way. There's a lot more movement involved than I expected.

Overall, I liked the Void and would recommend it. I would be interested in doing it again, but I am apprehensive of giving up park time to wait in line for a ten-twenty minute experience.

Then, we hit up the Daily Poutine for the Italian poutine. It was good, but not as good as the original. We took in some of the atmosphere and then headed back to the Poly.

We stopped at Captain Cook's for dinner-I think just my dad and I did. He got the Thai Cocunut meatballs which he really enjoyed. I got the pulled pork nachos without pineapple, because the pineapple is gross. It's a dish I've gotten before and recommend.

We tried to catch the electrical water pageant, but got some bad information on when it would swing by the Polynesian. But there would be other nights to check it out. So, we went back to the room and relaxed before going to bed.
