Trip Report: Do We Get Boarding Passes? (Day 6, Part 1 | November 2020)

Today we had Park Passes for Hollywood Studios so we had to get up early to try for a Rise of the Resistance boarding passes. Fortunately, you no longer needed to be in the park at 7 AM to join. I woke up a couple times-probably because I was so anxious. Around 6 AM I gave up and just got up.

Dad and I both tried for a boarding group. I just fiddle-faddled between the screens starting a couple of minutes before 7. That’s what Molly from All Ears recommended and it worked for me. We ended up in Boarding Group 10. I was trying to not get my hopes up, but I was so happy we’d get to experience it.

Since we were up and had such an early boarding group we decided to rope drop the park. We hadn’t done that yet during the entire vacation. We all decided to get breakfast at the Artist’s Palette instead of eating in the room like normal. I ended up getting a classic-Mickey waffle.

It was rainy and was supposed to rain on and off all day. Hopefully, this would keep the crowds down. We thought it might be hard to get a bus, but we got on the first one to pull up.

Trip Report: Dinner at the Boathouse (Day 4, Part 4 | November 2020)

 Our dinner reservation was at the Boathouse so we had to get to Disney Springs. We walked to the Contemporary to catch a bus. We waited about 15 minutes-definitely one of our longer waits, but we weren’t in a hurry. 

At Disney Springs we had about an hour to kill before our reservation. Can I talk about the Tigger plush wearing a mask at the temp check? He’s so cute!

We walked around and looked at the Christmas trees. We like this new Christmas Tree Stroll because it’s less congested. There was a map that you could complete and get a prize. It took awhile to find the maps, but we eventually found them at The House of Blues. We were able to find all the trees. The Fantasia-themed tree had a Baloo sticker, so I’m guessing there was a change for what that tree’s theme was supposed to be. The prize was a button. It isn’t anything fancy, but this was also a free activity.

Since we didn’t have any shopping to do, we checked in at the Boathouse a little early. We asked to sit outside to enjoy the view and were seated immediately. That was a happy surprise. Our waitress recognized my ears were from an Etsy shopped called Clearly Magic which was cool.

I got a cheeseburger-I didn’t write down my dad’s meal. He did get the blueberry lemonade which is an alcoholic drink and he did like it. We ordered a side of green beans, but they didn’t come with our meal. It worked out because that would’ve been way too much food. So, our waitress was nice and just took them off the bill.

I wasn’t feeling good again so we finished up and walked back to the room. I fell asleep pretty quickly.

Trip Report: Pretty Princesses (Day 4, Part 3 | November 2020)

 Next we were going to get food, but the Space Mountain wait was 20 minutes, so we decided to get in line for that instead. Buzz was on the stage in Tomorrowland and we were able to see him from the line because it wrapped around the stage.

After a spin through space we trekked to the other side of the park and got lunch at Peco Bill’s. This is quickly becoming one of my favorites in Magic Kingdom. 

A cavalcade stepped off when we left the restaurant so we were able to see the princesses. They were in their winter outfits which are gorgeous. 

Then, we headed back to Tomorrowland. We were going to do Buzz, but the line was a little long so we switched to Carousel of Progress. I love this ride, but it always makes me sleepy. I think it’s because it’s dark and cool.

The Buzz line was shorter so we hopped in line. I won, but no galactic hero. It’s been years since I got that.

We were done with the park so we decided to leave. The Dapper Dans were on Main Street so we stopped to watch them. Dad stopped in the bathroom so I waited by the Roy and Minnie statue. A family took a picture with the statue while I was there. The dad asked his wife if they had an extra mask for Roy. She didn’t but I did and appreciated the humor so I gave them a mask.

Trip Report: A Late Lunch at Yak & Yeti (Day 3, Part 3 | November 2020)

 Then, it was time to eat at Yak and Yeti. We had done the quick service before, but never tried the table service. I got the honey chicken which I’d never had before, but I’m a fan. I also enjoyed the decor and our waitress was nice. I will eat here again, but don’t feel the need to right away.

We left the restaurant around 4:20 and the park was closing at 5:00 PM. The Flight of Passage wait time was posted at 10 minutes so we were off to Pandora. It was a complete walk on. We got off at 4:50 and decided to get in line for Na’Vi River Journey. We didn’t want to wait a long time for it, but a short wait as the park closed worked for us.

Trip Report: Drawing an Elephant (Day 3, Part 2 | November 2020)

 We got on the train to Conservation Station and Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The next animation experience wasn’t until 1:45 which wasn’t for a little while, but I wanted to make sure we got to do it. So, we looked around a little bit. 

We got to draw Dumbo this time. My Dumbo was a little pudgy, but turned out pretty good. I’m not even a mediocre artist so that tells you how good the artists instructing you are.

Then, we headed back to Africa and went on the Gorilla trail. It was raining on and off so we didn’t know if the animals would be out and about. I thought it was a pretty good trip through the trail. Between this and our Safaris experience I think the rain might make the animals more active.

We got to see some baby naked mole rats. There was a hippo out of the water which I’m not sure I’ve ever seen. The baby gorilla was very active and just being adorable.

Before leaving Africa, I took some pictures. Harambe was pretty empty-probably because of the rain.

Then, we were off to Asia for a very late lunch. I walked around and took pictures since it wasn’t quite time for our reservation. Everest was done, but I don’t know why. I don’t spend a lot of time in Asia because I’m afraid of Everest. I have ridden it a couple times, but it’s a little too intense for me. But it is a very beautiful land.
