Trip Report: Shutting Down Epcot (October 2018)

If you missed the last update, you can read it here.

It was just after 10 when we got out of Mexico. We decided to had for Test Track.

The posted wait time was 145 minutes, but looking at the line we didn't believe it. So, we hopped in line after they scanned our MagicBands to confirm we could be there for Extra Magic Hours.

I set a timer on my phone to see how long the wait actually was.

Our car ended up being more well-rounded then we usually make. We ended up trying to use Figment colors.

The wait ended up being just 25 minutes (including the car building).

I forgot how intense the outside loop can be-especially when you bank.

It was 10:45 when we got off and the park would be closing at 11. Dad suggested riding again. Why not? Let's shut this sucker down.

I tried to look asleep for the picture this time, but couldn't quite remember where it was. So, I gave up like 1 second too early. Well, there's always next time.

The park was officially closed when we got off.

Unfortunately, Starbucks was closed, too. I wanted to pick up my "You are here" mug.

And it looked like they were still filming Wheel of Fortune. We could still hear yelling from over there/World Showcase.

I took a few nighttime pictures at the front of the park.

When we got out, they had just closed the monorail so dad had to take a bus like the rest of us. I got on the second bus to come for All Star Music and I still had to stand. That bus line was crazy!

It was after midnight when I got to my room so I went to bed fairly quickly and decided to shower in the morning.

Steps Walked: 23, 130

Trip Report: Checking Out Shanghai

If you missed the last up, you can read it here.

Dinner was over at 9 so IllumiNations was going when we got outside. So, we stopped at the edge of the Italy Pavilion and got a table to watch. It was an obstructed view, but we've seen the show so many times it didn't matter.

Once the show was over, we continued our journey around the world.

We stopped at China because they had a Shanghai Disney display. It was a little creepy because we were the only ones there. So, basically it felt like we were doing something wrong.

There was so much to look at. They had a huge map of the whole park and a promo video. There was also ride specific displays and even castmember outfits.

After that we passed Norway and considered meeting Anna and Elsa. The line was supposed to be short, but we ended up skipping it.

We did stop in Mexico to ride the Three Caballeros. Those boats move pretty fast and it's a fun ride with lots of bright colors.

I like being in the Mexico pavilion. It's really pretty and feels like you're really outside in a Mexican plaza. They also had a bunch of Day of the Dead stuff on display. I assume it's because it was October.

Trip Report: Father-Daughter Date Night

If you missed the last update you can check it out here.

Dad and I actually had to wait quite awhile for a bus. While we waited, I was able to pick up a Living with the Land FastPass.

When we finally got to Epcot Dad was pretty thirsty. So, we swung by Club Cool for free drinks. I just had 3 cups of Bibo which is probably my favorite.

On our way to The Land pavilion we did a little detour to hit up the bathroom and check out the Light Lab. It was pretty small, but cool looking. Then we did a nice ride on Living with the Land. I do miss the alligators which are never there anymore.

After our ride, I wanted to stop in Mousegears to look for Epcot 35 merchandise. Unfortunately, they didn't have a lot left. We did run into one of my cousins and family who were also shopping. So, we stopped to chat for a little bit. On our way to World Showcase and dinner we were distracted by bright lights and Christmas trees. They were filming Wheel of Fortune. I tried to get video/pictures, but it was a pretty limited view.

We were distracted a few too many times, because then we had to really book it to Italy. We were a few minutes late, but were seated with no issues.

We got a pepperoni pizza to share and talked. Via Napoli is a very loud restaurant, but we were still able to talk. The pizza was very good. It's definitely becoming a must do for us even with the noise.

Trip Report: Flame Tree Again

If you missed the last update you can read it here.

Now, it was lunchtime. We decided to do Flame Tree Barbecue again. We also did mobile ordering again which did go better this time. I ordered the pulled pork mac-n-cheese along with the pulled pork french fries.

We were able to get a seat on the water. It had a nice breeze and was very refreshing.

After lunch we stopped in some shops in/on Discovery Island to kill time. Dad picked up some beach towels. These used to be our go-to souvenir when I was a kid.

Then, we got in line for Finding Nemo: The Musical. We had FastPasses. The line was actually pretty long. But we did get in. And we were able to sit at the bottom of the second tier.

I'm so glad I bought a better camera for vlogging because I was able to zoom in on the performers.

This show always gives me the chills. The music is beautiful and performers voices are spectacular.

When the show was over it was time to leave and go our separate ways. Denise was going to the hotel to relax. Then, she was going to the campfire at Fort Wilderness with some of the extended family. Dad and I were off to Via Napoli for dinner.
