March 2013: Day 3, Part 4 (Fantasmic)

After dinner we went to Muppet Vision 3-D which is a family favorite.

In the gift shop I bought some Kermit gloves. They forgot to take the security tag off so I had to go back later that night. I figured the gloves were a good buy because they were cute and it was still cold.

Then, we headed to Fantasmic which was surprisingly crowded already at 6:15.

You knew it was cold because there was a little girl dancing around in snow pants.

One thing I never understand is why no one goes to the bottom seats. It’s a great place to sit and what I prefer.

The monkey part seemed shorter, but it was still a great show. I think Fantasmic is my favorite nighttime show (especially since there’s no more SpectroMagic).

After Fantasmic we rode Star Tours twice. The first time we were stopped by Vadar and ended up on Hoth and Naboo. The second ride was pretty similar. I like that it has variations, but they seem to be a lot of the same things.

Then, we stopped by Toy Story because I’ve never done it. The posted wait was 60 minutes, but the Lines app said 45 minutes. There wasn’t much else to do so we got in line. The queue is great and had some cute touches. I love that some of the crayons are warn like they’ve been used.

The wait ended only being 25 minutes.

I thought I did pretty well for my first time. And it’s easier to see what you’re aiming for than on Buzz.

After that we decided to leave. A bus was pulling up just as we got to the bus stop.

Perfect timing.

It was a shared bus with Grand Floridian and the Poly, but we were lucky and the Contemporary was the first stop.

As has become standard we stopped at the market. I wanted something salty so I got some chips and my parents got some ice cream.

Before heading to bed we went to the beach and watched the Electric Water Pagent. It’s one of my dad’s favorite.

March 2013 Trip Report: Day 3, Part 3 (Lunch at Hollywood Studios)

Back in the room we rested for a little while and hung out on the balcony.

We rode the bus to Hollywood Studios and decided to split a funnel cake. It was huge and delicious, but maybe I only thought that because we were so hungry.

Then, it was time for rides. Star Tours had a twenty minute wait so we got in line. We liked the new version, but it seemed shorter than before.

We kept wondering around to find something to do but it was had. We had reservations at 4:30 and didn’t want to be late.

We ended up going on The Great Movie Ride which is always fun.

When we got out we knew we really couldn’t fit another attraction in before dinner so we decided to check in early.

We got to Mama Melrose’s around 4:10 and were seated almost immediately. We’d never eaten here before, but Italian food is pretty easy. It’s a very loud restaurant though.

My dad got the chicken parmesan and the Moretti beer because the menu suggested it.

Denise got the mixed green salad and penne a la vodka.

I got the penne with chicken and four cheese sauce. I usually stay away from red sauce at restaurants because I eat it regularly at home.

Denise like her’s and dad said his was good but he wouldn’t get it again.

I really enjoyed mine. It was very creamy and there was a ton of it. My dad actually had to help me finish.

The wait staff was nice and efficient. We were done by 5 PM. I’m sure some people would see it as pushy, but I prefer to get my food and go.

March 2013 Trip Report: Day 3, Part 2 (Be Our Guest)

There had been some debate about whether we would eat at Be our Guest and when. Some people didn’t want to wait, but I definitely did.

So, we decided to suck it up and get in line around 10:45 and our food was delivered by 11:05  so it wasn’t a bad wait.

I was so happy because we found a table in the West Wing. I felt bad because we sat at a six-top, but I was eating in that room.

I got the turkey sandwich which I loved. It’s probably the best sandwich I’ve ever had and I still think about it. The turkey was very moist and the onions, tomatoes, and Dijon worked very well together.

I don’t remember what they got but here are some pictures.

When we left the line was all the way down to Gaston’s Tavern. Having an early lunch definitely worked in our favor.

We walked through Storybook Circus to check it out. It’s a cute area but not my cup of tea. I’m guessing I’ll like it more when I have kids.

Next, we went to Tomorrowland to do Monsters Inc Laugh Factory. I had never done it before and wouldn’t be (for now). We were in line for about five minutes when an announcement came on that the show was done and we would have to leave.

So, we decided to head back to the hotel. Before going to the room we stopped at the market so dad could buy a Mickey waffle air freshener and a bottle of water to freeze and use on my still injured foot.

March 2013 Trip Report: Day 3, Part 1 (Back to Magic Kingdom for Rope Drop)

I woke up at 7 because I had a goal for today. I wanted to see the Magic Kingdom welcome show. So, I had breakfast, a shower, and then headed to the monorail by myself.

The monorail pulled up just as I got there. A little boy dressed up like Iron Man was on the monorail which was adorable.

I was through the turnstiles and waiting for the show to start by 8:40.

I find the show so happy. It and the music always makes me smile and tear up a little bit.

Once I got in the part I slowly made my way to Buzz. I wanted to go a little slower today to take pictures and enjoy everything. Besides we got a lot done the previous day.

I maxed out on Buzz which I had never done before. I’m now a galactic hero.

Then, I meandered (seriously, that’s what I wrote in my notes) to Big Thunder. There was no wait and I sat in the front. It was fun but it definitely took some time for the momentum to build up.

I relaxed for a little bit and slowly made my way to Main Street for the Trolley Show and to meet up with my dad and step-mom.

We watched the show which is another happy favorite of mine.

Then, we were off to the New Fantasyland.
