Day 8, Part 4: Moving on Up

The trip got extended a day so my dad decided to let me spend one night with them. This way I wouldn't have to pay for an extra night when they were the ones extending it. So, I was living the deluxe Poly life-at least for one night.

I had to get my Magicband coded for their room. That took a long time and wasn't working right. But after a few castmembers we were cooking with gas and headed to the room to relax and pack.

My parents needed to pack and I had to make sure my bags weren't too heavy. That turned into it's own challenged. Apparently I bought a lot of stuff-mugs are really heavy. My dad had to put some of my stuff in his suitcase.

The plan was to eat dinner at Captain Cook's and relax by the pool. I got the pulled pork nachos minus the pineapple salsa because I think pineapple is disgusting. The pork was a little dry but everything else was delicious. And the heat builds a bit, but isn't overwhelming. I would get it again and you could easily share it with someone.

Then we enjoyed the Electrial Water pageant from the dock. And decided to forgoe the pool in favor of Wishes from the hotel room. This time my dad was able to pull up the music on his phone so we got the full effect. I still don't know why they don't pump the music in. It's weird.

I was tired so after a shower it was bedtime for me. I got to sleep next to Lilo and Stitch.

Day 8, Part 3: Eating at the Biergarten

Festival of the Lion King was great. It's a very beautiful and colorful show. We were seated in the elephant section.

Then, we had to book it to the Theater in the Wild for our Finding Nemo fastpasses. I freaking love this show and the music I own the soundtrack and listen to it constantly.

We got out of the show around 1 and had reservations at Biergarten at 1:55 so we were off to Epcot.

When we got there we were immediately headed to the the World Showcase. That's a long walk especially in the hot sun. Plus, there were some Food and Wine crowds.

We only waited for a few minutes before being seated. The restaurant is dark but very well themed. I liked the band and they are very talented. The food was good, but not my taste. I enjoyed the pretzel roll and tomato salad.

I can see why people like this restaurant, but I don't plan on visiting again.

After lunch we completed the World Showcase circuit. One day I'm going to buy something Doctor Who related from the UK pavilion.

Before we left we stopped at Innovations so my parents could pick up their free passholder port glasses.

Then, it was good-bye Epcot for the last time this trip.

Day 8, Part 2: Jungle Juice Convert?

We put our bags in a locker so we could ride Kali River Rapids. This turned out to be a good idea. I didn't know they took out the center part you could put stuff in.

A frog jumped on our raft. I don't know if he did the whole ride or bailed, but I hope he was OK. I got moderately wet and wore a dress so I could dry fast.

Since we were in Asia we went through the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I prefer this trail, but it was a bit of a disappointment this time. A lot of the animals were hiding including the tigers which I love seeing. They had carved pumpkins throughout the trek which was a cool Halloween touch.

We had 11 o'clock fastpasses for FOTLK and it was only 10 so we had some time to kill. We stopped at Harambe Popcorn for cinnamon-glazed almonds and the Jungle Juice slushies. Dad got his slushy in the special collector's cup.

I saved my almonds for later, but they are delicious if you are wondering. The slushy was good, but I like the plain juice better. The flavor seems to get a little lost with the frozen aspect.

We ate and drank near Festival of the Lion King. It was super hot and sunny. I think our clothes dried out instantly.

Day 8, Part 1: Safari Fun

This morning I had to checkout of All-Star Movies. I was sad to say good-bye to my super comfy bed.

I woke up just before 6:30. Ultimately, I was headed to the Animal Kingdom for EMH at 8. I didn't know how long it would take Bell Services to get my bags so I got ready before calling. I asked for them to come at 7 and they arrived around quarter after.

Then I said good-bye to the room and ate my last cheese danish. I got to the bus stop at 7:30 and was through bag check and in the park just after 8 so I made good time.

My parents showed up after a few minutes and we were headed on a safari. This is definitely a family favorite. There was some sun glare because it was so early, but that doesn't take away from the fun.

Our driver was great. Two giraffes walked really close to our truck. There was only one elephant sighting which was sad for me. But we did get to hear the lions roar because they were a little more active.

After the safari, we did the Pangani Exploration Trail. It was fun and there were two baby gorillas. They also had a baby zebra but we couldn't see him or her because it laid down. My stepmom could watch the gorillas for hours. I just like to walk through slowly. To each his or her own.
