Day 6, Part 3: Muggy Nights

Back at the hotel I got in bed to take a nap. my plan was a forty-five minute map and waking up at 3. That did not happen. Every time my alarm went off I reset it.

Around 4:30 I finally forced myself out of bed and texted my dad to see what the plan for the night was. He said we should meet at the Magic Kingdom around 5.

So I got ready and headed to the bus stop. Of course the MK bus was taking forever and it was raining. This time of day and MK buses don't seem to get along. The ETA for the bus kept getting pushed back.

It did finally stop raining and looked like it wouldn't start again which was nice. But it was super muggy. I hoped that would get better as the sun went down. That's what happened every night except the previous night for the Halloween party. Does anyone else feel like the humidity zaps all your energy away?

Finally got to the park around 5:20. I chilled on the rocking chairs by Tony's and discussed possible dinner and attraction plans. I didn't take notes so I don't completely remember what we talked about.

I do remember it being peaceful and I want to just sit around and people watch on future trips.

My dad had to take a call at one point-probably to talk about the horses back home. So, I was kind of on my own for a little bit.

A dad parked his umbrella stroller by me. He made a comment about me watching it because it was super expenseive. Such a dad thing to say and I wish I wrote down exactly what he said. I told my dad about it because we would love it. He always talked about how during our first trip when I was three he bought an umbrella stroller and then left it at the end of the trip. Now, so many people use those tanks of a stroller. Have to respect this guy.

Day 6, Part 2: Bacon Coma from Boma

My stepmom had a massage and other pampering at the Senses Spa at The Grand Floridian so she headed that way after lunch.

Dad and I relaxed at the resort a little bit and took in the animals. It was raining a little, but there were some giraffes and zebra hanging out.

Originally, we were going to do mini-golf because we always talk about doing it. But it was supposed to rain all day so we went to look at some stuff at Disney Springs instead. I guess we are still just talking about mini-golf. Maybe someday.

But that didn't last very long. After about an hour, we were both kind of tired so we decided to go separate ways and rest at our respective hotels.

I'm not a big napper, but I was definitely ready for one right now.

Day 6, Part 1: Being Adventurous at Boma

Animal Kingdom had extra magic hours this morning and we had breakfast reservations for 10:30 at Boma. The original plan was to go to the park, but the previous night we decided to skip it and sleep in a little.

I woke up a little before 9, got around, and headed to the bus stop.

And I had great bus luck this morning. Only had to wait a few minutes to catch one to Animal Kingdom and then there was one waiting to take me to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Turns out it was exact same bus.

That would've been nice to know!!! ;)

I didn't realize how close AKL was to the park. I guess it makes sense. But after the Hoop-Dee-Doo fiasco I didn't want to take any chances.

So I was there before 10. I took the time to take pictures and check out the lobby. And I bought a small hand-carved box from one of the shops. It's probably one of my favorite souvenirs.

Once it was time for our reservations we were seated very quickly. And we were seated really close to one end of the buffet.

There was a ton of food on the buffet with a lot of variety.

I'm not a very adventurous eater, but a buffet is a good way to try new things. So, I did. Overall, I was pretty happy. The beef hash was very good. And the bacon was perfect for me and the fruit was very ripe.

We had the house juice to drink. I think it's the same as Jungle Juice. And it grew on me the more I drank it.

I was definitely full and satisfied at the end of the meal. I probably ate a pound of bacon. #NoRegrets

Day 5, Part 7: Put a Spell on You?

After the parade we did a little bit more trick or treating. Then, we got in line for Seven Dwarfs. It was a 40 minute wait, but we figured this would be our best chance to check out the queue. It was nice to check out the attraction and it got kind of intense.

At this point, I was having pretty bad back spasms and standing was the last thing I wanted to do. It was almost time for Celebrate the Magic to start so we got a spot for it and HalloWishes.

Celebrate the Magic is one of my favorite things in Disney World and I'm always in awe. I hadn't seen the Frozen part yet and liked it.

Hallowishes was fantastic. It is more aggressive than regular Wishes which I really liked. But it also has a strong beat which tends to mess with my heartbeat and make me uncomfortable.

After that we walked to the front of the castle to watch the Hocus Pocus show at 10:40. People were leaving so we got pretty good spots. It wouldn't start for awhile so we got out ponchos and sat on the ground.

It started to rain more at this point. A CM was going around letting everyone know that the show may be cancelled because of weather. About 10 minutes before go-time they squeegeed the stage.

They finally made the call not to do the whole show, but would do one number. I was happy with that because you can't control the weather.

But there was a lot of booing from the audience. This actually upset me.

Of course I wanted to see the whole show, but I danced for 15 years and you can't risk the safety of your performers. I enjoyed what they were able to show us.

Then, we did some trick or treating in Tomorrowland. Buzz was a complete walk on. Our last right of the night was the TTA which was even more amazing at night.

We got a little bit more candy and then headed out.

There was an All-Star Music bus when I got to the station and I was like: close enough. We waited about 10 minutes to see if the bus would fill up and then were off.

It was like 12:30 and I was ready for bed when I got to my room. I was so tired I didn't even have time record how much I walked this day.
